Lyons Township High School
Location: Western Springs, IL

Vegter Excavating was contracted to provide the earthwork operations for the additions to Lyons Township High School. 

The footprint of the project site was approximately six acres and involved the addition of new sports facilities including a fieldhouse with locker rooms and an Olympic size swimming pool.  The existing Auditorium was retrofitted with a tiered stage constructed inside the existing structure.  A 1.5 acre detention pond was constructed in an area previously utilized as athletic fields.  Berms were constructed around the perimeter of the detention pond to increase the capacity and to provide an aesthetically pleasing landscape feature.
